There are three notable differences between Standard Class & First-Class postage.

  1. Deliverability Time Windows:
    1. Standard Class mail can take anywhere from 5-20 days but typically hits mailboxes in 7-10 days.
    2. First Class mail starts to hit mailboxes in 1-5 business days from when your mail is brought to USPS.
  2. Undeliverable / Returned Mail:
    1. If your mail is undeliverable, First Class mail will be sent back to the return address on the mailpiece, while Standard Class mail will not.
  3. Cost Difference:
    1. Open Letter Marketing's First Class mail also costs ~18 cents more than our Standard Class mailers, but this can be well worth the extra cost due to receiving undeliverable mail and having a smaller delivery window.
