There are three notable differences: Deliverability Time, Returned Mail, and Cost.
There are three notable differences between Standard Class & First-Class postage.
- Deliverability Time Windows:
- Standard Class mail can take anywhere from 5-20 days but typically hits mailboxes in 7-10 days.
- First Class mail starts to hit mailboxes in 1-5 business days from when your mail is brought to USPS.
- Undeliverable / Returned Mail:
- If your mail is undeliverable, First Class mail will be sent back to the return address on the mailpiece, while Standard Class mail will not.
- Cost Difference:
- Open Letter Marketing's First Class mail also costs ~18 cents more than our Standard Class mailers, but this can be well worth the extra cost due to receiving undeliverable mail and having a smaller delivery window.
